“Untamed Love”
Free like an aquariun soul. Loving her has no rings. She comes and goes as she pleases. She barely stays around long enough. Yet when she’s with you she’s metaphorically one in the sun with wide eyes bright and beaming. You want to hold her tight and never let her go, but she’s not that type. She’ll laugh at you. Shun you. You want to kiss her forehead and her two cheeks but she always turns away. You ask yourself how someone could love such a wild creature? But you love her. She’s different. She has no rules and abides by no laws. However, she’s a tax paying citizen. She breaks all the rules of gravity the way she floats in your thoughts. She’s captivated your mind. She’s more than an image she’s smart. You wonder does she do drugs all day or just half the day. A free spirit is what they call them. Her outlook on life doesn’t make sense to you. She’s living. Yet your still trying to make sense of it all. So go ahead and fall in love. You’ll do it on your own. She won’t go there with you. She won’t stop you either. You see she believes in free love, just not being in love. So fall off that cliff by yourself. She hasn’t saved many and probably won’t save you either. You’ll eventually learn she’ll love you from a distance. A distance that will deter you away. You’ll eventually marry. You’ll marry the safe girl. The girl who worships the ground you walk upon. The girl who isn’t high all day. And you’ll regret it. You’ll wish you would’ve accepted her. Accepted her flaws. Accepted her antics and outlooks. Accepted her ambiguity. That’s where you struggled. You wanted to change her. You wanted her to be like the others. You wanted her to be safe. She’s not safe. Nor will she ever be. You’ll look at your wife and wish she was her. You’ll never understand that her love from a distance is what was suppose to keep you safe. Keep you safe from her. Did you not think she was familiar with her complexity? She knew you would fall. Fall hard. And she could not give you what you wanted back. She knew she would hurt you and you would allow it. So she chose to love from a distance. And as you go to kiss your wife at night you’ll hear her voice telling you, you can’t tame the wild.
